S Karthikeyan, Group Director (Systems)
Center for Military Airworthiness Certification (CEMILAC), Bangalore.
S Karthikeyan is the Group Director systems in CEMILAC from 2014 and coordinating with various DRDO Labs, PSUs and Private industries for certification of EW & Radar programmes, UAV, AEW&C etc.

Karthikeyan started his career as Electrical Engineer in Ashok Leyland. He joined DRDO in 1986 and posted to RCMA, Hyderabad as Scientist – B. During his tenure at RCMA, Hyderabad he involved in airworthiness certification of several avionics systems like Weather Radar, Radio Altimeter, engine Control Amplifier, Control and Communication systems for LCA, ALH, HJT etc. He also involved in various avionics upgrade programs for MiG21, MiG27, Jaguar, SU-30 and other Indian naval aircrafts. He was heading RCMA Hyderabad as Regional Director from 2008 to 2014 and managed Airworthiness certification of avionics for EW programs for Naval aircrafts, Boeing P8-I, AEW&C and RUSTUM-II, missile systems etc.
Karthikeyan is an Electronics and Communication Engineering from Guindy Engineering College Chennai and obtained M.Tech degree in Electrical Engineering with Digital Signal Processing specialization at IIT Kanpur in year 1993.


Commodore SS Vombatkere, Director
Naval Technical Group (NTG), Indian Navy
Commodore SS Vombatkere joined the Electrical Branch of the Indian Navy in 1987 after graduating in Electrical Engineering from IIT Madras. A post graduate in Computer Science from IIT Bombay he has been actively associated with various academic and technology initiatives of the Indian Navy for over 25 years in the areas of Software Development, Information Security, Embedded Systems, and Reliability & Maintainability. He also has a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, and has over the years been a member of various expert committees and Project Steering & Review Groups for Information Security in the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Communications & IT.

In his 28-year naval career, he has served on board various warships, in naval dockyards, naval training schools and at Naval Headquarters. He is a hands-on engineer and spent his early years in the Navy developing software for the Navy, for which he was awarded the Naosena (Navy) Medal by the President of India in 1998. Subsequently, during his 6-year assignment at the Weapons & Electronic Systems Engineering Establishment, Delhi (WESEE) at Delhi, as Systems Manager & later Head of the Information Security Group, he was one of the pioneers in the development information security solutions for the Navy. This was followed by a 3-year appointment as Director of the Software Engineering Group at Mumbai, the Indian Navy’s nodal agency for Embedded Systems support. He is presently the Director of the Naval Technical Group at Bangalore that is responsible for Reliability & Maintainability studies and Life Cycle Support of indigenously developed Electrical, Communication, Electronic Warfare, and Weapon & Sensor networks and systems.

His areas of interest include Indigenisation & Sustainable Technologies, System & Process analysis and Technology Insertion.


Anand Deshpande, Deputy Director, Head of Automotive Electronics Department
Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), India
Anand Deshpande is a graduate of Electronics & Telecom Engineering of Pune University in 1992 and has been a part of Automotive Research Association of India, Pune since August 1992. He is currently working as Deputy Director and Head of Automotive Electronics Department and Information Technology Management Group of ARAI. Responsible for development and evaluation of automotive electronic embedded systems for EMI/EMC, environmental conditions, performance etc.
Anand has worked on development of first prototype of electronic engine management system for passenger car in 1992-93 and on development of number of test instrumentation development systems/software for automotive industry. He has also led establishment of state-of-art EMI/EMC test facility and evaluation test facility for automotive electronic systems at ARAI.


Nagaraj N.Murthy, Associate Director & Section Head-Software
Moog India Technology Center, India
NN Murthy come with 41 years’ experience in Avionics System, Embedded Systems, Safety & Flight Critical Software Development, Flight Test Instrumentation. He holds a M. Tech in Electronics Design Technology from IISc. Bangalore and M.Sc (Engg) in Physics from Regional Engg. College (now NIT), Bhopal.

NN Murthy started his career in 1976 as a CSIR Junior Research Fellow at National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL) and became the Deputy Director/Head, Aerospace Electronics & Systems Division, NAL & Associate Project Director, SARAS Aircraft Program from Jan 2002 to Oct 2004. He was the Director/Business Domain Lead at Honeywell Technology Solutions, from Oct 2004 to March 2009 and Indian Civil Aviation Authority (DGCA) approved Chief of Design.  

He has more than 35 publication in his name and has received numerous awards like, 1st Flight Lt. Tanmaya Singh Dandas Memorial Gold Medal Award instituted by Institution of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineers for significant contribution in the field of Avionics, NAL Technology shield during the year 2004, Leadership Excellence Award at Honeywell for the year 2008 to name a few.


Dr. Yogananda Jeppu, Head R&D Systems,
Moog India Technology Center
Dr. Yogananda Jeppu holds a BE in Electronics and Communication, from Mangalore University, a Post Graduate in Missile Guidance and Controls from Pune University. He has a PhD in Reliability from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. He started his career in 1987, working on Missiles and Indian LCA programme with Defense R&D Organization. He is currently working in Moog India Technology Center, Bangalore as a Member Technical Staff and Head - R & D – Systems.
Dr. Yogananda Jeppu has been working in the field of Control System Design and Implementation, Simulation of Aerospace Systems, Verification and Validation for aircrafts and missiles for the past 28 years. He has several publications on Randomized Testing, Orthogonal Array Testing and Missile Guidance and Control. He has a US patent for “Software License Independent Image Generation” and is also recipient of many awards notable are the Commendation Certificate for “Significant Contributions made to the Integrated Guided Missiles Programme”, and the “National Aerospace Laboratories Technology Shield for Outstanding Achievement in LCA Control Law Design, Certification and Successful Flight Tests”.


Sanjay Gupta, R&D Director - Automotive & Industrial MCU Group,
Freescale Semiconductor, India

Sanjay Gupta joined Motorola / Freescale in 1996 and has had work assignments in the Wireless business, Digital Networking and currently in the Automotive & Industrial MCU organizations. Sanjay is amongst India Board of Directors and a focal point for IESA from Freescale India.
Sanjay has grown his organization into the largest Design Center for Automotive MCU R&D with more than 340 engineers. He has successfully implemented biggest SoC Design team for Automotive Group along with global consolidated functions for Digital IP, Analog IP, Analog-Mixed Signal Architectural Signoff, Pre-Silicon Emulation and Silicon Validation which support all four Automotive MCU Design Centers.
Sanjay earned his bachelor’s degree in Engineering in Electronics and Communication, and his MBA from the Indian School of Business.

He holds multiple U.S. patents in the areas of low power design and numerous papers and publications in leading global magazines.


Serge, Plagnol, Senior FAE, Southern Europe & India,
Green Hills Software, France

Serge joined Green Hills Software in 2001. He has 30 years of experience in developing embedded software. Since he joined Green Hills, Serge has focused on helping customers apply Green Hills technologies to applications ranging from infotainment to airborne systems. Serge received a Master of Engineering in Industrial Data Processing from the National Institute for Applied Sciences (INSA) of Toulouse, France, and a Master of Sciences in Signal Processing and Machine Intelligence from the University of Surrey; United Kingdom.


Dr. Mike Bartley, Founder and CEO,
Test and Verification Solutions Limited, UK

Mike Bartley has a PhD in Mathematics from Bristol University, an MSc in Software Engineering and an MBA from the Open University, and over 25 years of experience in software testing and hardware verification. He has built and managed state-of-the-art test and verification teams in a number of companies (including STMicroelectronics, Infineon and Elixent/Panasonic) who still use the methodologies he established. Since founding TVS he has consulted on multiple verification projects for respected organisations including ARM and Infineon.
Dr. Bartley was formerly Chairman for ten years of the Bristol branch of the British Computer Society and is currently Chairman of the Bristol Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) and is a Technical Advisor to the National Microelectronics Institute (NMI).  He has had over 20 articles published on the subject of verification and outsourcing.


Manju Nanda, Principal Scientist
CSIR-NAL, India
Manju Nanda come with 18+ years of experience in design, development and qualification of safety critical embedded systems. Have developed core competency in the field of software engineering and embedded systems for safety critical applications. She is honoured with organizational award for Woman Scientist for the year 2014 and has been a part of establishment of the Special Interest Group (SIG) for Formal Methods. She has 17 Papers published in National & International conferences.
Manju holds a BSc in Physics from University of Pune in the year 1993 and obtained MSc in Electronics Science from Dept. Of Electronics Science (University of Pune) in the year 1995. She also holds a PhD in Formal Methods (Software Engineering) from IIITB, Bangalore in the year 2014.

Smt Chitra V has done M Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from IIT Delhi, after completing her graduation in Physics and Post Graduation in Computer Science. She is working for DRDO for the last 24 years and has worked on secure systems development. She has delivered some of the significant solutions for the services in the areas of authentication and access control. Her areas of interest are Security Engineering, Secure Software Development and Secure Coding.

Independent Industry Analyst / Columnist and Business Consultant
Raja is an Independent Automation Consultant, Industry Analyst, and Columnist with around 40 years of senior managerial experience. He has held C-level executive positions in leading companies, such as Honeywell, Thermax, Bells Controls an affiliate of Foxboro / Invensys, Electronics Corporation of India Limited and Instrumentation Limited. Until recently, he was responsible for ARC Advisory Group’s business operations in India.
His experience includes turnkey execution of automation projects starting from application engineering to procurement to installation and final commissioning (conventional control and instrumentation, distributed control systems (DCS), programmable logic controllers (PLC), supervisory control and data acquisition systems (SCADA), and simulation & optimization systems.
His present focus includes distributed generation, renewable energy, smart grid, industrial control system & critical infrastructure industry cyber-security, sustainable manufacturing, Industry 4.0 trends, and Internet of Things.  Raja’s consulting experience covers manufacturing industry, enabling technologies, and business excellence and transformation.

Bill StClair, US Operations Director,

Bill St. Clair is currently Director, US Operations for LDRA Technology and LDRA Certification Services and has more than 25 years in embedded software development and management. He has worked in the avionics, defense, space, communications, industrial controls, and commercial industries as a developer, verification engineer, manager, and company founder. He holds a U.S. patent for a portable storage system and is inventor of a patent-pending embedded requirements verification system. Bill’s leadership was instrumental in adapting requirements traceability into LDRA’s verification process.


Mark Richardson, Lead Field Application Engineer,
LDRA, UK

Mark Richardson has over 30 years of experience in the development of real-time embedded software in C, C++ and Java. He is currently working for LDRA, where he is a Field Application Engineer working in close collaboration with LDRA’s numerous distributors.  Prior to joining LDRA, Mark was the lead application engineer for IBM Rational Rhapsody and has over 12 years of experience using UML on embedded projects.

He has lived in the UK, France and the USA, working on a variety of embedded projects and is currently living in the UK.


Pierre Vincent - Technical Consultant
Esterel Tehnologies, France
Pierre Vincent started his job at Esterel Technologies as R&D Engineer, in the year 2000. In 2005, he became the Technical Consultant in charge of supporting customers in the development and verification of their software application with Esterel SCADE products. During this period, he provided methodological & certification support including the development of Certification Plans & process guidelines for several companies in various domains (Aerospace: DO-718B, Rail: EN 50128, Nuclear: IEC 61508/IEC 60880).
Between 2009 and 2011, he was the Project Manager for the development of an Aircraft Navigation Application (DO-178B level A) for a French company. Since 2012, he is a member of Esterel-Technologies Safety Team where he contributes to the management of SCADE products safety, prepares adoption of new certification standards within the company and provides safety field support.

Prior to joining Esterel, Pierre Vincent was an Airbus subcontractor in a French Services Company. Pierre has a Master’s degree in Computer Sciences from National Superior Institute of Electronics, Electrical engineering, Data processing and Hydraulics, Toulouse and a DEA in Physics of solids from University of Sciences, Toulouse, France.rom University of Sciences, Toulouse, France.

Dr. Christian Ferdinand, CEO,

Dr. Christian Ferdinand studied Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at Saarland University, Saarbrücken, and received his Ph.D. in 1997 on "Cache Behavior Prediction for Real-Time Systems". He is a co-founder of AbsInt Angewandte Informatik GmbH and since February 1998 has been managing director of AbsInt. He is author of numerous papers about the static program analysis of safety-critical real-time systems, functional safety, and tool integration in model-based development processes.

Mr. Suneel Santharam has been closely associated with the Systems and Software Engineering industries for more than 14 years out of which 6 years have been spent in Training and Consulting with leading service companies, A&D, automotive and product companies. He is part of some of the prestigious projects in A&D and Automotive industries. Currently focusing on industry standards like DO178B/C, ISO26262 and how these standards can be applied using tools. Industries like electrical, mechanical and software are getting closely integrated, hence working with RELM (Rational Engineering Lifecycle Manager) and sharing his experiences and its applicability for them.

Venkat Rao Vesangi has about 17 years of experience in embedded software development. He holds a M.Tech degree from NIT, Calicut. He is currently working at Texas instruments as Engineering Manager, focusing on the functional safety aspects on software development for TI's Hercules family of Microcontrollers. He has software development experience in the areas of defense electronics, voice codec development on TI's DSP for high density gateways. His areas of interests include embedded software development for safety applications and security systems.


N Ranjana, Sc ‘F’

N Ranjana, Sc ‘F’ has 22 years of experience with Defense Research and Development Organization in various responsible positions. She worked at Naval Science & Technological laboratory from 1992- 2001 and thereafter she has been working at Advanced Systems Laboratory from 2001-2015(till now). She is currently heading the Software Quality Assurance Group under the Directorate of Reliability Assurance. Primarily working for Agni program she has spearheaded the IV&V of software for AGNI missions and ground software.  She has been working on Software development & Software Quality Assurance for AGNI Program. She headed the MIS for 7 years and has been responsible for the implementation and PLM at ASL. She also led the initiative of architecting the Employee Self Services and Information Security Practices at ASL and worked on the development of integrated test system of naval systems.
Ranjana has got Path Breaking Technology Group Award for being a team member of successful AGNI III flight test for the year 2007, Laboratory Technology Day Award in the year 2008 and Group Leader of Laboratory Technology Group Award for the Year 2013


Lokesh S Balu, Cyber Intelligence Consultant

Lokesh S Balu is currently a Cyber Intelligence Consultant with Dell CyberSecurity. He is member of Cyber Response Services team that is responsible for managing Dell corporate security through Intelligence-driven defense. He also leads the Dell Vulnerability Research – a virtual team that manages externally reported vulnerabilities on Dell product and software. He has extensive experience in static code analysis and has trained more than 100+ developers on software security and defensive coding techniques. As part of his work he has reviewed 600+ projects for integration of secure practices throughout the Software Development LifeCycle. He has delivered Networks Security awareness sessions for diploma students, scientists at research institutes and has presented in regional security chapter meetings.  He is a Certified Information Risk Assessor and Certified Software Tester. He has bachelor&rrsquo;s degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering from University of Madras.

Throughout his career span of 11+ years he has demonstrated success in driving proactive / reactive aspects of Secure Software Development Consultancy and Validation of products, software & IT systems with greater emphasis on prudent balancing of business and security objectives of computer & networking systems that can have in-built resiliency.


V Anil Kumar, Principal Scientist

V Anil Kumar is a Principal scientist at CSIR Fourth Paradigm Institute, Bangalore, India. He was the Chief Investigator of sponsored projects from Ministry of Information Technology, Govt. of India and CSIR on Cyber Security. He is also actively involved in a 5 year-long project on Cyber Security Research and Observation (CySeRO) under the CSIR 12th Five Year Plan.

His research interests are Cyber Security, High Performance Computing and Internet Protocol Engineering. He has more than 25 research papers in international journals and conference proceedings. He has also filed one International patent and one Indian patent related to Cyber Secuirty.

He received DAAD Fellowship from German Academic Exchange Service and subsequently worked at Fraunhofer Institute for Open Communication system (FOKUS), Germany from 2002 to 2004. From 2009 to 2010, he was with the French National Research Institute in Computer Science and Control (INRIA), France as a Senior Expert Engineer. He has worked on a large European Union Project called OneLab2 to establish a geographically distributed and federated network testbed.
