Vice President – RTA Solutions, ETAS, Germany

Nigel Tracey graduated from the University of York in England (Computer Science Department) in 1996. He went on to complete his Doctorate in 2000 based on original research into automated software testing for safety-critical applications whilst a research associate at the University of York.

Since 2003 Nigel has work for ETAS (part of the Bosch Group). Nigel is General Manager for the ETAS Embedded Software development centre in the UK and also Vice President for the RTA Solutions business unit. The RTA embedded software products are today deployed in more than 2 billion ECUs around the world with a further 2-3 million being produced each week.

Nigel has also organised a number of international workshops and published more than 30 papers on real-time and safety critical systems topics.

Director – US Operations, LDRA, USA

Bill St. Clair is currently Director, US Operations for LDRA Technology and LDRA Certification Services and has more than 25 years in embedded software development and management. He has worked in the avionics, defense, space, communications, industrial controls, and commercial industries as a developer, verification engineer, manager, and company founder. He holds a U.S. patent for a portable storage system and is inventor of a patent-pending embedded requirements verification system. Bill’s leadership was instrumental in adapting requirements traceability into LDRA’s verification process.

Chairman of the MISRA C Working Group, Technical Specialist, LDRA, UK

Andrew Banks is a Technical Specialist at LDRA with more than 30 years’ experience of high-integrity real-time/embedded software development.

A Chartered Fellow of the British Computer Society, he graduated from the University of Lancaster in 1989, and has spent most of his career within the aerospace, defence and automotive sectors.

Andrew is committed to standards development – he has been involved with MISRA since 2007 and has been Chairman of the MISRA C Working Group since early 2013; he is the Chairman of the BSI “Software Testing” Working Group; and an active participant in other BSI, ISO, IET and SCSC work, including the recent revision of ISO 26262.

Head, Cybersecurity Solutions – Mobility, ETAS, India

Khushwant heads ‘ESCRYPT’, the leading automotive cybersecurity brand at ETAS India. Since 2016, Khushwant is spearheading Automotive Cybersecurity awareness in India. He has been working closely with Indian as well as Global OEMs and Tier-1s to help them in addressing future challenges of Automotive Cybersecurity in the evolving connected vehicles market. Khushwant has delivered several talks on the subject and is regularly invited as a panellist in several prominent industry events.

Chairman of the MISRA C++ working group, Technical Specialist, LDRA, UK

Chris Tapp is a Technical Specialist at LDRA with more than 20 years’ experience of embedded software development. He graduated from the University of Durham in 1987 and has spent most of his career working within the automotive, industrial control and information technology industries, mainly as a self-employed consultant. He has been involved with MISRA since 2001 and is currently chairman of the MISRA C++ working group and an active member of the MISRA C working group. He has been with LDRA since 2007, where he specialises in programming standards.

Principal Engineer, ABB, India

Mini TT is a Principal Engineer in the Measurements and Analytics Division at ABB Ability Innovation Center, Bangalore. She has developed embedded systems for more than 25 years. She has experience in efence, semiconductors, consumer electronics, substation automation and industrial measurements. Her pecialization is in embedded systems and system architecture. Her areas of expertise include cybersecurity, performance engineering and real-time systems.
She holds an MTech in Embedded Systems from BITS Pilani and a degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Kerala.

Field Application Engineer, TASKING, India

Mohamed Zuhair is an Electronics Engineer with over 13+ years of industry in developing, testing in automotive electronics. He has worked on various functional safety compilers supporting OEM’s, Tier1 customers in automotive semiconductors.

Currently Mohamed Zuhair is working as a Field Application Engineer for TASKING and supporting a wide range of customers for the India Region. His area of interest is on the multi-core with focus on safety and security in the automotive domain.

Field Application Manager, LDRA, USA

Ehsan Salehi has over 10 years of experience in software development. Since 2014, he has been a member of the Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE™) Conformance Subcommittee and a contributor to the FACE: Conformance Verification Matrix. Prior to joining LDRA in 2018 as a field application manager, Ehsan was involved in developing FACE standards while working for Georgia Tech Research Institute. His past work as a software verification engineer has included involvement with industry safety certification standards such as DO-178B/C, DO-254, ISO 26262, and IEC 61508.

Ehsan earned his master’s degree in computer science and bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia.

Anil Kumar N.G is a Sr. Technical Manager with LDRA Technology Pvt Ltd. He is a Level 1 “Functional Safety Certified Professional” in accordance with IEC 61508/IEC 61511 with over 15 years of experience in the development and verification of real-time embedded systems. His Core experience includes the development of startup codes, low-level drivers and BSP for various target platforms and RTOS. He has guided customers at various phases of the software development lifecycle and helped them achieve compliance to various safety-critical industry-specific standards and guidelines and has helped them achieve Object Code Verification on various target platform involving complex development environment.

Cybersecurity Expert, MOXA and ISA Cybersecurity Director, Brazil

Felipe is an Electrical and Electronics Engineer and an official ISA/IEC-62443 industrial cybersecurity instructor for the ISA (International Society of Automation) trained at ISA Headquarters in US. He is also an Industrial Cybersecurity (IACS) Expert at Moxa, an international speaker, and an author of white papers in different organizations, including ISA Global Cybersecurity Alliance. With over 15 years inside the industrial sector dealing with a wide array of technologies and products, Felipe is dedicated to developing mission-critical solutions that include cybersecurity by design. Felipe holds cybersecurity certifications from the US Department of Homeland Security, MIT, IBM, New York University and Stanford, including a MSc. in Industrial Cybersecurity from the Industrial Cybersecurity Center in Spain. Besides he is also a technical committee member on different cybersecurity standardization initiatives, including on Energy, Oil and Gas and ISA/ISO/IEC/ABNT. He also has a specialization from Harvard University in Innovation and an MBA in Marketing

She holds a Master’s degree in Embedded System and a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and communication engineering.

Priya Peter is System Safety and Reliability Engineer with Collins Aerospace, having over 18 years of industry experience. Her major area of expertise is into safety, reliability, and maintainability of avionics systems. In the current role, she is also responsible for the statistical analysis and field reliability assessment for the avionics systems at Collins India Engineering Center. Prior to joining Collins, she was involved in testing and certification of patient monitoring systems. She holds a master’s degree in reliability and statistics and bachelor’s degrees in Electronics and communication engineering and information systems.

George Koilpillai is one of the Honeywell Software Chiefs in the Aerospace business unit. George spent many years in the development of Radio Navigation and Communication products and also in the field of Inertial Navigation and integrated avionics platform. In his role as software Chief George has the accountability for the product assurance of Aerospace products for the software verification and validation. Prior to Honeywell, George worked for avionics functions of the Indian Light Combat Aircraft at Aeronautical Development agency. Prior to ADA, George worked for the Inertial Navigation systems for Indian Jaguar aircraft and Indian missile systems at Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd.

George has a master’s degree in aerospace engineering from IIT, Chennai. George has a patent issued and three other patent applications filed.

Principal Engineer – Certification, Honeywell Aerospace, India

Shashi Kumar, an Indian Airforce veteran carries over 39+ years of industry experience. He has wide experience in diverse domains and roles in ground and airborne Radar systems, Precision Landing Systems, Air Traffic Control & Communication systems, Customer interaction, leading teams in software product development, verification, deployment, customer training and maintenance activities on programs like war games simulators, radars, aircraft simulators, mission planning systems, condition based maintenance systems, Cockpit display systems, Quality Assurance, Aerospace product certification and Human resource management functions.

Shashi holds a master’s in software systems from BITS Pilani, Masters in Business Administration, a bachelor’s in Electronics and Communication Engineering and a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resources management. He is a Six sigma Green belt certified, Systems Engineering Professional, certified program manager, technical trainer, Aerospace product certification specialist and member of AMIE (I) and AeSI. Shashi currently plays the role of Principle Engineer at Honeywell-India Aerospace Product Certification Team.

Marcel Beemster
Marcel Beemster

CTO, Solid Sands, Netherlands

Marcel Beemster is a professional of compiler technology with a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Amsterdam. From 1999 he was senior software engineer at ACE to manage a wide range of compiler development projects. Since early 2013, his focus shifted to the support, maintenance and development of the SuperTest compiler test and validation suite for C and C++. Marcel co-founded Solid Sands in 2014 in order to put his full attention to compiler validation and its application in safety-critical application development. He loves the C programming language, right from the first day he picked up K&R’s book, because it provides a direct connection with the machine at high performance.

Dr. Marcel Beemster is a former assistant professor at the University of Amsterdam with excellent teaching skills. He has presented at international scientific conferences and at industry oriented events

Founded Konatus in 2008 (www.konatus.com.br). Performed several consulting services in System and Software Safety and Reliability domains. Nowadays, he is an Adjunct Professor at ITA at the Mechanical Engineering division and a member of the Konatus supervisory board.

Shaadhanaa is a Lead Embedded Software Engineer at vTitan Corporation. She works closely on Software Design and implementation, Risk and Failure Analysis and Software testing involving extensive interaction with latest microcontrollers. She plays a major role in requirement analysis being a Product Manager for innovative healthcare devices. She holds a Master’s degree on Medical Electronics and Bachelor’s degree on Electronics and Communication Engineering.

Jos van Vroonhoven is senior standards manager at Philips in The Netherlands. He is chair of the National Committee at the Royal Netherlands Standardization Institute (NEN) for IEC TC 62, Electrical equipment in medical practice, and expert member in the National Committee for ISO TC 210, Quality management and corresponding general aspects for medical devices. He participates in several working groups of these technical committees, in particular as convener of their Joint Working Group on the application of risk management to medical devices, which was responsible for the recent revision of ISO 14971 and ISO/TR 24971. He further contributed to ISO/IEC Guide 63 with guidance for standards writers on the inclusion of safety aspects in international standards for medical devices.

Chuck Brokish is the Director of Transportation Business Development at Green Hills Software. He has 30 years of experience in the embedded systems, in areas of mobile wireless, automotive active noise control, infotainment, ADAS, and V2X. He has been working on embedded security for over 20 years. Chuck is a registered Professional Engineer, has been active on advisory councils and industry forums and standards committees including SAE, ISO, IEEE, MIPI, and Global Platform. He has patents in the areas of Active Noise Control, DSP architecture, Real-time Debug, and Secure Processor design.

He is also responsible for the application of Ansys Medini across industries like aviation and semiconductor etc.

Overall 22 yrs in the VLSI industry. He has been engaged with Automotive SoC / IP development in NXP for past 14 years, in various roles including as SoC Chip lead, Global Digital IP Manager and now as a Sr. Director for Digital design in MCU_MPU Engineering group. He has been involved in development of multi-million gate SoCs meant for Automotive and Edge Processing based System solutions. He and his team have been working on IP development across 12 domains including Automotive Safety, Security solutions, Custom Processors for Radar, Vision ADAS, Body Electronics and so forth. Before NXP, he has also worked in various capacities with Agilent Technologies, NEC Australia in Melbourne and Altima Corporation in Japan. He did his Engineering from IIT-Roorkee and his Masters from IIM-Lucknow.

Peter is a founder and director of SISLYNX Limited, a provider of cloud-based functional safety management services. Peter has over 30 years of experience in the process industries, specialising in process engineering design and process safety.

Peter is passionate about the correct application of industry sector safety standards, and regularly attends process safety workshops for example: HAZOP, LOPA, FME(D)A, ATEX HAC, and SIL assessments where he is either participant or Lead. When he is not engaging with his industrial clients, Peter is also a visiting lecturer at Strathclyde University (Glasgow) where he schools M.Eng. students on process safety.

Peter received his Ph.D from Cambridge University and is a certified functional safety professional (CFSP).
